Jackie (lt.) and Jodi Flieger prepare to leave home for new challenges.Flieger Sisters add Spark and Dazzle to Lady Kats Things just aren't the same in the Flieger household, now that Jackie and Jodi have finished their high school basketball careers. The 17-yearold identical twin daughters of Gary and Doreen Flieger are the darlings of the FHS AAA Lady Black Kats. The girls and their basketball team have just completed a 119-game winning streak, a record for N.B. (maybe even for Canada) under the same coach. As left-handed shooting guards, they are nothing short of ... awesome!Small Turnout Approves New LSD BudgetChairman Jackson Reports Smooth YearFire Department Gets New TruckBIRD TALKMEMORIES OF THE 1930'sOn the bank of the river a "brow" of logs, not far from the pulpwood, would be rolled into the river and built into a raft which would ride the high water in April to Springhill, just above Fredericton. There buyers for Fraser's lumber would "scale" the round logs and arrive at an estimated board ft. value of the timber and pay cash for it. I should explain how a "brow" of logs was formed. Lots has been happening since then. This first attempt at putting on such a production has prompted me to evaluate the facilities we have at our school for such on-stage events. The lighting is inadequate, voices are easily lost in the expanse of curtains, and there is no way to create a proper backdrop for scenery or background. With the investment of some money, and considerable investment of volunteers' time, great strides are being made to upgrade the facilities.
