IBM Cheese Cutter

This Cheese Cutter was patented by International Business Machine (IBM, now known for computer parts and services) in 1901. In this cutter, a lever (missing) turns the cheese in precise increments. Integrated scales and measuring controls insure that the wedges are a consistent price depending on the weight of the cheese. In 1911, IBM merged three other companies; Computing Tabulating Recording Company, International Time Recording Company and Dayton Scale Company. They were able to produce a range of products from time punch machines to meat and cheese slicers.
